Why Cartoons?
For me, to be precise, cartoons are the mouthpiece of the commoners. They speak out the common man’s pain, agony, anger, sorrow, happiness in a very clear and vivid way. It always lashes out at the existing evils and negativities of the society in the guise of laughter. Cartoon for me was never an entertaining art and will never be. This satirical art form has always prompted me to raise the voice on behalf of the society against everything that is unfair, corrupt and dishonest. I also believe that every cartoon is a punch targeted at the realities of the society which makes you think again and again. And with that belief in my heart, I have always tried my level best to represent the common people’s feelings through my cartoons.
On that backdrop, I expect that this website will serve as a humble effort to channelize the voice of the masses, where my role will be analogous to that of an anchor or messenger!

Inspiring Ink
Nituparna started his journey as a cartoonist in ‘Abikol’. He is good at drawing and has drawn on many issues. He has commented on issues like Mid-day meal scheme, present youth generation, corruption, so called modernism and political hypocrisy. While some of cartoons are too straight forward, others are really cooked to the perfection. I wish him a great future. (Aarchi, Collection of Nituparna’s Cartoons, 2011)
Thinker, Writer and Social-Scientist, Assam
A cartoonist should acquire political conscience, keenly observe the society and have sharp intelligence and wit to create a cartoon that shakes the society. Young cartoonist Nituparna shows a combination of all these characters in his creations. His cartoons reflect a sense of strong revolt against all the evils of the society. He bears a great potential to become an influential cartoonist if he continues his efforts and remain responsible towards the society. (Information Brochure, Aarchi, Exhibition, 2007)
Political Columnist, Assam
Though young, Nituparna is quite matured as a cartoonist. His focus always lies on the weak characters of the society from a political outlook. He is quite conscious and vivid in portraying those characters. His strong lines of drawing make the characters real to the eyes of the audience. More particularly, his cartoons portray the hard realities of the society as a whole with a bite of laughter and thus make people aware on the role of cartoons as a medium of bringing change to the society. That itself is good news for the art of cartooning. (Information brochure, NEOTHANI, 2014)
Writer and Art Critique, Assam
Nituparna Rajbongshi is one among the most promising cartoonists of younger generation. I am following his cartoons since last few years. Each of his cartoons depicts conceptual clarity and wit. In addition, a sense of pure humour, inherited from a common man’s life is also available in his cartoons. I expect more and more flexibility and varieties in his drawings in years ahead.
