The surprise demonetization move by the Modi Government has hit the nation’s economy in a multitude of ways. While many has praised this overnight move as a “surgical strike” against corruption, tax evasion and black money, the reality of the currency reform or ban is that it has affected the “Low-income Indians, traders and ordinary savers who rely on the cash economy. ” To add to the worries of the ordinary Indians, there comes the price kikes of petrol and diesel, LPG. But, yet , the Government has no specific data on how much black money has been recovered and how it has helped the nation.
