Recent verdict by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India preventing politicians from using religion and castes for vote is really a welcome move. In India, politics and elections are gradually becoming more and more religion bound, caste bound which negates the very basic principle of secularism in the constitution. Political parties and politicians are playing the open cards of religion, castes, groups, creeds etc. to come to power. Nothing can be more painful than this in a modern India. Now, with Supreme Court playing their part, it’s time for all other concerned machinery to implement and monitor the same.
