India is celebrating its 70th Independence Day today. While the every state government has made it mandatory to celebrate the same with much pomp and glory along with the central government, people in many parts of the country is reeling under flood. Flood victims in Assam are suffering immense difficulties at the relief camps, homes and agricultural fields submerged, road connectivity getting affected, patients die due to improper medical facilities, farmers committing suicide due to loss of crops, schools inundated. Amidst all these hardship, the state government has made it mandatory to celebrate the Independence Day with three day programme , that too with much hullabaloo and show, thus showing utter disrespect and lack of empathy towards the flood victims of the state.
